She was born on Sept. 27, 1924, in Cleveland, a daughter of Frank and Erma Jones Sr.
She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class.
She served as church organist when she was younger. When her children were younger, she was very active in the PTA at Stuart School. She was a worthy matron in the Eastern Star. Reading was her favorite pastime.
She and her husband, Glenn McCoy, owned McCoy Inc., McCoy Rental, and Napa Auto Parts.
She loved to travel with her friend Marge to Europe, Australia, Hawaii, and all the USA, except Alaska. Short one-day trips were frequent. She had many good friends and loved those Friday night (no-brainer) card games.
In addition to her parent, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Glenn, one son, Steve McCoy; two sisters: Lillian Kelly, and Ruth McCleod; and one brother, Dr. Frank Jones Jr.
She leaves here to cherish her memory one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Cindy McCoy; daughter-in-law Sandy McCoy; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Pat Jones of Oakridgep; five grandchildren: Farrah Still (Todd), Lacy Smith (Chad), Dustin McCoy (Ashley), Haley McPhail (Blaker) and Zack McCoy (Shawna); six great-grandchildren; special son, David Mantooth; special friend, Marge Rainey; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
The family is planning a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests tmemorials be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church of Cleveland Building fund.
