“One of the tenets of the MOMS Club is to provide service opportunities that we can do with our children,” explained Katie Weiss, vice president in charge of service. The club has a very diverse membership of more than 55 moms and knows children come with all sorts of gifts and challenges.
The moms are happy to help in this small way.
Additionally, there are three MOMS club children who ride with the organization and have witnessed its benefits.
Club members painted birdhouses to match a stuffed animal that will be mounted around the arena. The riders will then need to start, stop, hold, and match the animals to their home.
The MOMS club stands for Moms Offering Moms Support and produces a monthly calendar of kid- and family-friendly events.
The next business meeting will be held at the YMCA on Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. Free child care is provided at the child watch.
