Maggie Sue Mangrum, 86, a resident of McDonald, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 13, 2013, at the family residence.
She was the daughter of the late Laura Branam Waldrop and Edward M. Waldrop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady G. Mangrum; sisters: Frankie Waldrop, Pearl Lovingood, Janie Austin, Viola Waldrop and Nora Lee Stone.
She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, canning and making blackberry jelly. She was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters: Mary Judith Mangrum of Florida and Connie Marie Pirkle of Chattanooga; her sons: Ken Mangrum of Cleveland and Mitch Mangrum and his wife, Charlotte, of McDonald; her grandchildren: Lori S. Waters, Christopher S. Mangrum and his wife, Sonya, Kayla Benton and her husband Jason, Erin Mangrum, Mary Beth Mangrum, Victor Pirkle, Jessica Pirkle and Mary Mitchell; her great-grandchildren: Jaci Waters, Brett Waters, C.J. Mangrum, Taylor Mangrum, Allie Mangrum and Matthew Benton; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Matthew Craig officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery in McDonald with Victor Pirkle, Josh Anderson, David Armstrong, Ralph Snyder, Chris Mangrum and Bobby Armstrong serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
