Margaret Bates, 62, a resident of Ocoee, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie Clifford Goforth and Edna Parker Goforth. Her son, Vernon Eugene Walker Jr., also preceded her in death along with her sisters: Linda Rue, Geraldine Waters, Peggy Hall, a stepgrandchild, April Nichols and her pet dog, Winnie Bates.
She truly enjoyed fishing, camping, going to flea markets and riding in the mountains.
She was a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by: her husband, Kenneth Bates, of Ocoee; her daughter, Missy Walker of Ocoee; her son, Ronnie Walker of Cleveland; grandchildren: Tanner Guinn, Courtney Walker, Hailey Houston, Tanner Voyles; great-grandchild, Macorlah Dilbeck; her sisters: Mary Jones and her husband, Travis, Liz Pierce and her husband, Eddie, Nancy Gaston, all of Cleveland; her brother, David Goforth of Cleveland; stepchildren: Christina Loudermilk of Cleveland, Juanita Henson of Knoxville; stepgrandchildren: Ashley Nichols, Summer Henson, Cheyenne Henson, Heather Loudermilk, Brianna Loudermilk; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 17, 2012, at Archville Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Tanner Guinn, Vernon Jones, John Paul Jones, Harle Keith, Brandon Houston and Troy Jones serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church from noon today until the time of the service at 2 p.m.
