Martha Emerson Ray Terry, 90, of Spring City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Meigs County.

She was the daughter of the Eli Franklin Emerson and Rossia Lee Lemons Emerson.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by husbands: Murphy Ray and Manley Terry; brothers: Arch Emerson Sr. and Sylvester Buck Emerson; and sisters: Goldy Guffie, Nancy Robinson and Elizabeth Goins.

She is survived by a sister, Hattie Roberts; sons and daughters-in-law: Charles (Wildene) Ray of Cleveland, Samuel (Sheila) Ray of Grandview, Paul (Velma) Ray of Chatsworth, Ga., Doyle (Linda) Ray of Seffner, Fla., Murphy (Linda) Ray of Rossville, Ga., Kenneth (Kathy) Ray of Okeechobee, Fla., Larry (Rebecca) Ray of Puyallup, Wash., and Carl (Faithie) Ray of Clarksville, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Carole (Keith) Rutherford of Savannah, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The body is at Kyker Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in funeral home chapel with the Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating.

Interment will be in Cedar Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
