Mary McNealy, 59, of Cleveland, died at her home Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 41 years, Joe McNealy; two daughters: Erin Kathleen McNealy of Chattanooga, and Ryan McNealy Morehead of Spartanburg, S.C.; son-in-law, Mason Morehead; granddaughter, Charlotte Rose Morehead, of Spartanburg; three brothers: Michael, Patrick and Brian O’Rourke; nieces: Katie O’Rourke and Rita O’Rourke, all of Cleveland; and many extended family members and friends.
She was born in Akron, Ohio, and moved to Tennessee in 1976 with her husband, Joe. They raised their two daughters: Ryan and Erin in Cleveland. She was a beloved mother and wife.
She taught English at Dalton High School for the last 14 years. She loved her students and teaching with a passion. She loved her church family and has been a faithful member of St. Therese of Lisiuex Catholic Church in Cleveland for 30 years. She enjoyed reading, shopping and most of all spending time with friends and family especially her granddaughter, Charlotte Rose.
A celebration of Mary’s life is planned for Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at St. Therese of Liseux Catholic Church, 900 Clingan Ridge Drive, Cleveland, TN 37312.
A rosary will be said at 9 a.m., receiving of friends will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and a funeral Mass will begin 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Northwest Georgia Girls Home, 508 Chattanooga Ave., Dalton, GA 30720.
