The events, developed by Mayfield’s Parent Coordinator Hillis Cavendar, began in the fall of 2002 as a way to provide enrichment opportunities for students. This year alone, more than 200 Mayfield families were positively impacted by the family science nights led by Dr. Jason Robinson.
“When Mrs. Cavendar began developing the science nights, she was way ahead of the ballgame. She understood many years ago the importance of science education at the elementary level and because of her vision and the dedication of Mayfield’s administrators, teachers, and families, students are excited about science and engaged in the learning process,” Robinson said.
Mayfield Elementary will continue to provide students and their families with opportunities to create, explore and discover for many years to come.
