Renee Hankins of Dayton and Timothy E. McCracken of Cleveland were married in an afternoon, poolside wedding ceremony on May 21, 2011, at the home of the bridegroom.

The bride is the daughter of Rufus Maxwell of Crossville and the late Ellen Maxwell. The bride’s father and her stepmother, Sue Maxwell, were present for the ceremony, as well as her children, Brad Hankins, a student at Freed Hardeman University in Henderson, and Stephanie Hankins, a recent graduate of Freed Hardeman. She is the sister of Greg Maxwell of Chattanooga.

The bridegroom is the son of Eugene and Kathryn McCracken, who were also present to witness the exchanging of vows, as well as the bridegroom’s son, Taylor McCracken, a recent graduate of Freed Hardeman. Mr. McCracken is also the father of Hunter McCracken, a student at Tennessee Technology University in Cookeville.

The ceremony was officiated by Steven R. Hall, minister of Union Grove Church of Christ, where the bridal couple are both members.

Others present for the ceremony were the bridegroom’s sister, Kathy McMahan of Benton and her husband, Eddy, and his brother, Adam McCracken and his wife, Jenny. He is also the brother of the late Philip McCracken.

A poolside reception was held after the wedding ceremony. After a wedding trip to Hilton Head Island, S.C., the newlywed couple is at home in Cleveland.

Mrs. McCracken is a registered nurse in the surgical intensive care unit at Parkridge Hospital in Chattanooga. Mr. McCracken is a marketing representative with Auto-Owners Insurance Co. of Lansing, Mich.
