Memorial Convenient Care to hold open house Saturday

The National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) held a recent meeting of Chapter 860 at the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church.  Eva VanHook, director of Family Promise of Bradley County, was the guest speaker.  Family Promise, founded over 30 years ago in New Jersey, currently serves families in 41 states.  Family Promise of Bradley County opened its doors to guests in September 2011.  This organization serves families that have become homeless or jobless.  Working with local churches and volunteers, Family Promise provides shelter and other assistance until the family secures permanent employment and/or housing. Memorial Health Partners Foundation has invited Cleveland community to tour the new facility at the Memorial Convenient Care Open House from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Memorial Convenient Care is located at Mouse Creek — Publix Center, 645 Paul Huff Parkway N.W. Suite 105.

The open house will feature tours of the facility and health screenings, and the community will meet the health care providers as well as other staff members.

These activities and screenings will be available:

- Bone density screening

- Waist-to-hip ratio / Body mass index screening

- Blood pressure screening

- Free Child ID kits provided

- Mole Patrol (skin cancer screening)

- Memorial Ambulance on site for “touring”

Insulated lunch bags given out to the first 100 visitors and light refreshments and other giveaways will be available. Everyone is welcome.

Memorial Convenient Care is open seven days a week and will treat adults and children for minor illness and injuries that do not require a trip to the hospital emergency room.

The clinic will also offer a full range of employer healthcare services, school and sports physicals and flu shots.

Memorial Convenient Care accepts most commercial insurance as well as Medicare and Medicaid.
