Michigan Avenue Elementary School
Michigan Avenue Elementary School recently celebrated a milestone in our Accelerated Reader Program.  students read more than 30,000 books in just the first nine weeks of school.  To celebrate, students were allowed to dress as their favorite book character.  Lots of students participated, and a costume contest was held.  From left, were Braden Wiggins as "King Peter of Narnia", Addison Smith as "Pippi Longstocking", Carly Coleman as "Charlotte", Ashton Musselwhite as "Fancy Nancy", Bryson Bivens as "Waldo" and Johnathon Anziano as "Officer Buckle." Principal Angela Lawson stands behind the students. Johnathon, Ashton and Bryson won the contest.  Each winner was presented with a gift card to Target and a special sweet treat.
