Jamie M. Lewis



Army Pvt. Jamie M. Lewis has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions.

Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.

Lewis is the son of Ron and Kim Lewis of Cleveland.

He is a 2009 graduate of Cleveland High School.

Christopher A. Havens

Air Force Airman Christopher A. Havens graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Havens is the grandson of Sandra Havens of Cleveland.

He is a 2008 graduate of Bradley Central High School, Cleveland.

Micah L. Church

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Micah L. Church graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Church is the son of Gary Church of Athens.

He is a 2002 graduate of Gateway Christian School, Memphis.

Craig T. Hicks

Army Pvt. Craig T. Hicks has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, the military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Hicks is the son of Craig Hicks of Decatur. He is a 2012 graduate of McMinn County High School, Athens.
