The award winners are Levi Miller from Walker Valley High School; Whitney Patteron of WVHS; and Amanda Bortle of McMinn County High School.
These students attended Calhoun Elementary and are graduating this year from high school.
Miller is a Tennessee Scholar with a GPA or 3.15 and an ACT scored of 21. He has worked at Ace Hardware for the past two years.
He plans to attend Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, where he want to study engineering.
Patterson attended Calhoun Elementary for nine years. She was a member of many clubs and service organizations in high school.
She has a 3.7 GPA and an ACT score of 22.
She is a member of Sanford Baptist Church. She recently began working a Willie’s Restaurant in Charleston. She plans to attend Cleveland State Community College where she will work toward her career goal of becoming a radiology and ultrasound technician.
Bortle was involved in sports and clubs at Calhoun Elementary. She is an outstanding girls softball player.
She is a four-year member of the McMinn County High softball team, where she has enjoyed much success..
She has a GPA of 3.58 and an ACT score of 21. She has a real compassion for helping those with physical limitations; therefore, she plans to attend University of Tennessee at hattanooga, where she will study physical therapy.
