Traffic on Interstate 75 at Exit 20 was slowed again this morning after a pickup truck reportedly began swerving in the construction zone then struck a concrete barrier.

The truck overturned, according to a Bradley County 911 report.

The crash occurred just before 8 a.m., as traffic flowed northbound near the exit ramp.

A Bradley County Fire-Rescue fireman reportedly witnessed the incident.

As emergency crews from Cleveland Fire Department, Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Cleveland Police Department and Bradley County Emergency Medical Service went en route to the scene, they were advised multiple vehicles had been involved.

Tennessee Highway Patrol was notified and also responded to the scene.

According to the report, the driver of the pickup truck was not trapped and refused medical treatment.

THP is in charge of the crash investigation.

- Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Safety Belt Checkpoints in Polk County beginning next weekend. THP has a number of various checkpoints scheduled for Bradley and Polk counties.

The checkpoints will be set up in random location in the county.

According to THP officials, checkpoints are an effective means of recognizing the dangers presented to the driving public, by motorists who would violate the laws of the state.

All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon weather conditions and manpower availability.
