Mosby Park Pool
Mosby Park Pool is filled with swimmers and supporters Thursday evening for a Waterdogs swim meet. The Cleveland Parks and Recreation Department held a public meeting Thursday evening in the College Hill Recreation Center to discuss plans to replace the 40-year-old pool prior the summer of 2013. The estimated cost, about $450,000, would be paid for by a $250,000 grant through the Local Parks and Recreation Fund; $100,000 through the Community Development Block Grant Program and $150,000 from the city. By the time pool season arrives in 2013, all three municipal pools will meet the Americans With Disabilities Act standards. Along with the new pool, Mosby Park will have ADA compliant restrooms. Another recreation improvement in the works is the pending purchase of property between Sheperd Field and Benton Pike. The $45,000 purchase price for the property would be paid for with Community Development Block Grant funds. The added land would be used for parking at Shepherd Field. The Parks and Recreation Board will meet in July to discuss projects for inclusion in the new five-year master plan.
