The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Lowery III of Fultondale. She is the granddaughter of Pierce and Dorothy England of Fultondale, Nellie Lehman of Dora, Ala., and the late Fed Lehman.
The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Bill H. Murphy of Cleveland. He is the grandson of Bill and Hazel Murphy of Chattanooga and the late Walter and Dixie Cox.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Edward Brown of Fultondale and the Rev. Debbie Stokes of Cleveland. The bride was presented in marriage by her father.
Nuptial music was presented by the Vigilantes Quartet — Chase Guyton of Cleveland, Ian Galvin of Columbia, S.C., Jackson Pinder of Tallahassee, Fla., and the bridegroom; soloist Guyton and a brass quartet with Kevin Kozak (French horn), Dr. James Smizek (trumpet), and R.C. Wangler (trombone), all of Birmingham, and Dr. Dennis Herrick (trumpet) of Montgomery.
The bride was attended by her sister, Amanda Lowery of Fultondale, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s cousin Haley Brown of Dora, Kalynn Mangina and Lacey Carter, both of Fultondale, Jenna Witcher of Hoover, Ala., Dawn Clayton of Tallahassee and Mackenzie Hogan of Springfield.
The bridegroom’s father served as his best man. Groomsmen included the bridegroom’s brothers Scott Murphy and Ben Murphy, Daniel Hubbard, Kit Nelson and Josh Hixon, all of Cleveland, and Jackson Pinder of Tallahassee. Ushers were Kyle Clayton of Cleveland, and R.C. Wangler and the bride’s cousin Christian Patel, both of Birmingham.
Brayden Lowery of Fultondale, the bride’s nephew, was ring bearer.
The reception was given by the parents of the bride at the Rotunda Club on the Samford University campus.
After a wedding trip to Emerald Bay, Bahamas, the newlywed couple resides in Montgomery, Ala., where Mr. Murphy is the assistant director of bands at Huntingdon College.
