Rodney Murray presented a program to the Cleveland Civitan Club about the history of and programs available at the Cleveland YMCA. The YMCA was started in Cleveland in a 1947 meeting at the Chamber of Commerce. In 1961, they obtained their first facility. The current facility was opened in October of 2000 and expanded to its current size in 2007. There are many fitness programs along with after school-programs at many of the schools in the county. The YMCA also has programs for special needs students from Joy School, Life Bridges, Trousdale School and the Cleveland City Schools special needs classes. The Cleveland Civitan Club's main mission is to help people with special needs enrich their lives. From left are Civitans Phil Brown, Kelly Browand, Murray and Dave Cummings.
