The contest theme, “Historic Places and Outdoor Spaces,” “celebrates two things that put our region on the map — rich history and beautiful scenery,” said Museum Director Lisa Simpson Lutts.
Photographers of all ages and skill levels are invited to capture images that feature historic cities and outdoor wonders of the Southeast Tennessee/Northwest Georgia region. The contest and exhibition is sponsored by CPQ Professional Imaging.
Photographers can enter photos in professional, amateur or youth divisions. Cash prizes will be awarded in each category. Specific guidelines on theme, photograph dimensions, and presentation, along with an entry form can be found online at www.museumcenter.org/forms/2011_Photo_Contest_Guidelines.pdf or interested individuals can stop by the museum to pick up an application.
Submissions will be accepted the week of Oct. 17-21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Submissions must meet all guidelines detailed in the application.
All submissions will be on display at the museum for an eight-week exhibition from Oct. 29 through Dec. 31.
