Walker Valley’s boys golf team finished in fourth place Thursday in the City Prep golf tournament at Harrison Bay’s Bear Trace.
This year’s title went to McCallie with an eight-over-par 296 total, the only team under the 300-stroke plateau. Baylor was second at 300, Notre Dame third at 302 and Walker Valley’s Mustangs fourth at 313.
McCallie senior Patrick Clossin paced the Blue Tornado with a 1-under 71, but medalist honors went to Notre Dame junior David Weeks with a 2-under 70. Walker Valley’s Corey Evans shared third place with his 74.
Other Walker Valley scores came from Clark Melton, Cody Godfrey and Duggan Cannon.
Bradley Central golfers participating in the tournament included Hunter Chastain, Jordan Whitmire, Casey Haney and Chase Montgomery.
Polk County’s Evan Ball had a 76 and Keoni Vidrine an 81, both playing as individual entries.
Soddy-Daisy junior Jessica Cathey won the girls’ individual title with a 74, while Baylor took the team championship.
In girls’ competition, Walker Valley’s Avery George shot an 81 and Courtnee Young added an 86. Lydia Triplett of Polk County also had an 81.
