Winter Storm Titan iced its way across much of Middle Tennessee, and its frozen grip put a stop to tonight’s Class AAA Sectional basketball action between Walker Valley and Siegel.

The Mustangs and Stars will try again Tuesday at 8p.m.

A 23-10 Walker Valley team goes to battle with a 30-1 Siegel team, currently ranked first, in what Mustang head coach Bob Williams considers his team’s biggest challenge of the year.

The Mustangs have faced a barrage of tough competitors in the postseason, and punched their ticket to the sectional game with a 67-50 semifinal win over county rival Bradley Central.

Walker Valley has three players who are averaging double digit points this season, with Austin Harwood averaging 10.3 points per game, Lukas Korn getting 12.4 PPG and Brandon Crews leading the way with an average of 16.4.

Walker Valley’s 72-54 loss to Stone Memorial for the Region 3-AAA championship was its first loss in 12 games.

To earn the home court advantage in the do-or-die sectional, the Stars first had to defeat the Blackman Blaze, who are the only team to have beaten Siegel all season.

The Blaze handed the Stars an 80-65 loss in the District 7-AAA championship game, which Siegel avenged in the Region 4-AAA championship game with a 59-52 victory.
