On Tuesday Walker Valley hosted a track and field half meet.

Cydney Black came in first in the 200-meter dash and Hali Lowe finished third in the 400-meter dash.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Black, Gracie Pierce, Halie Miller and Lowe came in in second place, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Black, Lowe, Pierce and Sierra Green also finished second.

Kayla Sims finished in third place in the 800-meter run.

For field events, CyCy White finished in second place in the high jump.

The girls’ shotput competition saw Walker Valley take the first and second place positions, with Rachel Lawhorn setting a new school record with her first place toss and Haley Wattenbarger coming in second.

For the boys, Devin Pruett finished first in the 200-meter dash and then came in in third place in the 400-meter dash.

Bradley Headrick finished third in the 300-meter hurdles, while Mason McClure claimed a first in the 800-meter run.

The boys’ 4x100 meter relay team of Alex King, John Hixon, Devin Pruett and Bryce Nunnelly finished second and the 4x400 meter relay team of Zach Nicodemus, Nunnelly Christian Warui and Zach Hartman also finished second.

Walker Valley’s next meet is Friday at Chattanooga Christian School, beginning at 4:15 p.m.
