According to Lt. Bob Hancock, he and Sheriff Jim Ruth will present a PowerPoint program and explain how residents of the Manor Acres community can establish a Neighborhood Watch program.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
On Thursday evening, Hancock and Ruth will present the program to members of the Camelot community. That meeting will also begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at Hopewell Elementary School.
- Tennessee Highway Patrol has announced plans to set up driver’s license roadside safety checkpoints to be held in Bradley County beginning Sunday.
The checkpoints are designed to recognize the danger presented to the public by unqualified drivers and troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who would otherwise violate the driver’s license laws of Tennessee.
All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon weather conditions and manpower availability, according to Capt. David McGill, district commander of the Chattanooga office.
- A William Way resident reported someone took the wheels and tires from his vehicle late last week.
According to a report filed with deputy Doug Boucher of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, David Prok said the theft apparently occurred either Wednesday or Thursday.
Someone had gone onto Prok’s property and took the wheels and tires from his Honda Civic SI, reports said.
Detective Zech Pike of the Bradley County Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene to recognize and collect any evidence left behind by the perpetrators, according to the report.
Prok estimated the value of the wheels at $1,000.
Investigation is continuing.
