Michigan Avenue Elementary School recently received a grant of $8,461 from the Bradley County Healthy Community Initiative. With in-kind donations from Play and Park Structures, along with funding from the Michigan Avenue PTO and community support, the school collected a total of $20,000 to purchase new playground equipment for students. This addition will provide physical activity for all students, including those with special needs, and will work in conjunction with the overall health program to combat child obesity.
