He was preceded in death by father, Norman Akins and mother and stepfather, Maxine Harbison Nichols and Rual Nichols.
He is survived by his wife, Eny Akins; sons, Keith Akins and Joe Akins; and daughter, Amy Williams.
There will be no funeral services at this time.
