Mickey and Tilda Oden of Athens announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jennifer, to Matthew Baker, the son of Paul and Judy Baker of Cleveland.

The couple will wed in a 5 p.m. ceremony on June 16 in the Gardens of Sunshine Hollow.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Louise Oden of Athens and the late J.C. Oden and the late Arch and Bonnie Pritchett. She is the sister of Dr. Sherry Kasper of Calhoun.

Miss Oden is a 2010 graduate of Maryville College and is currently in the doctorate program in biochemistry at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of Bill and Helen Baker of Harrogate and the late Wayne and Billie Edmondson. He is the brother of Terry Baker of Ooltewah.

Mr. Baker is a 2009 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro. He is employed Benchmark Physical Therapy, Ooltewah, as a helpdesk associate.

The two are both members of Double Springs Baptist Church in Athens.
