Otis D. Denton Jr., 50, a resident of Birchwood, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was a former employee with Aztec Industries as a welder and was a volunteer firefighter at Station 3 in Birchwood. He was a member of the Freedom Church of God and loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Denton; son, Sam Denton of Trenton; three stepdaughters; Jonie Deal and Christy Evans, both of Decatur and Angel Shahan of Birchwood; 11 grandchildren; parents: Otis and Mollie Denton of Birchwood; brother, Paul Denton of Birchwood; sisters: Betty Oliver of Pikeville and Teresa Parker of Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at the North Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Landon Harden officiating.
Interment will follow in the Grasshopper Church of God Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
