The church has been hosting a July 4 fireworks show for 19 years. Sears said this is the first year they have had to postpone the show.
“The real reason we [postponed] was for the safety of individuals, as far as if lightning had been a factor,” Sears said. “We didn’t want to put children or adults in danger at night. We are opting for a night that [the show] would be more enjoyable.”
The church is currently working with Pyro Shows, the company in charge of this year’s firework show, to determine the best date.
