Pauline V. Nave, 92, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday morning, June 2, 2012, in a Rhea county health care facility.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1919, in Stonega, Va., a daughter of the late Charles W. and Cora Buckles Vandeventer.

She spent most of her life in the Elizabethton area until relocating to Cleveland in 2004 to be near her children.

She was a charter member of the Elizabethton First Church of the Nazarene. She worked as a PBX operator for the Inter-Mountain Telephone Co., TVA, and retired from the Johnson City Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Nave; one son the Rev. Justin R. Nave in October of this past year; one sister, Velma Glover; one brother, Philetus Vandeventer; one nephew, Allen Vandeventer; and her little dog, “Frisky.”

She leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Dennis Wyatt of Cleveland; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Nave of Cleveland; one brother, Clifford Vandeventer of Elizabethton; one niece, Shelby Taylor of Clarksville; two nephews: Carmon and Douglas Vandeventer, both of Elizabethton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

A graveside service was held at the Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton, Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Revs. Brian Nave, Kinley Knight, and Keith Robinson officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Elizabethton First Church of the Nazarene, 200 West I St., Elizabethon TN 37644 or to the Elizabethton Animal Shelter, in care of City Hall, 137 Sycamore St., Elizabethton, TN 37644.
