She was born on Aug. 13, 1939, to the late Oscar and Ruby Curtin.
She served with her husband, Robert, for 54 tremendous years in 10 different nations, as well as many years of pastoral service alongside her husband here in the United States.
Hundreds of buildings, churches, schools, classrooms, water wells, and orphanages were constructed with the help of Peggy, and many different nationalities responded to the Gospel through her service and ministry. She also served many children and adults with her puppet ministry.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 54 years, Robert; three sons: Nathan McConnell (Tammy), Lance McConnell (Angela), and Brett McConnell (Amanda); two brothers: Oscar Curtin Jr. and Dan Curtin; three sisters: Cynthia McKnight, Kathy Bolin, and Jolene Golden; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Grace Assembly Church of God, located at 1976 Westland Drive.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Westmore Church of God, located at 2412 Wolfe Ave., with Gary Sears, Stephen Sewes and other world missions leaders officiating.
Interment will follow at Calhoun United Methodist Cemetery. Nathan, Lance, Brett, Colter, and Judah McConnell and Tim Hampton will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Church of God World Missions, 2490 Keith St., Cleveland, TN.
