Pierson to lead special services at the Philippi Baptist Church

Don Pierson will be the speaker in services tonight through Sunday at Philippi Baptist Church on Harrison Pike.

The service will begin at 7 nightly.

Pierson was saved in 1975 and answered God’s call to preach in 1979. He is a graduate of Campbell University in Bules Creek, N.C., with a bachelor of science degree in religion. He has a master of divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C.

He served as minister of youth for three years. He served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Lenden, N.C., for five years; and as a missionary to Belize with the IMB for the Southern Baptist Conference for seven years.. He also served as director of mission with William Carey Baptist Association.

He is a professor of spiritual disciplines at North Alabama Christian College in Huntsville, Ala.; and Prayer Strategies Ministry specialist of the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
