Lee University will host the Australian Christian Worship band, Planetshakers on Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.

The performance will benefit Lee student Josh Owens, who was critically injured in an automobile accident on Aug. 19.

He has since been in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Erlanger Hospital and in the Siskin Rehabilitation Center in Chattanooga.

“Three students were returning to Lee University from an international prayer conference held in Kansas City, Mo. .in the early morning hours of Aug.19. As they approached Chattanooga, their car hydroplaned, ricocheted off a concrete wall, and was instantly hit by the trailer of a gasoline tanker truck. The car burst into flames. Everyone was able to get out of the burning vehicle, but the student riding in the back seat was now in critical condition,” a witness said.

Planetshakers formed in 1997 at Planetshakers City Church in Melbourne, Australia, under the leadership of senior pastors Russell and Sam Evans.

Since 1997, Planetshakers has toured extensively across the globe, in support of 20 albums.

“We believe God’s given us a mandate to bring breakthrough, to bring a greater level of understanding about what the power and presence of God can do in your life,” said band member Mike Webber.

The Planetshakers U.S Tour will feature Israel Houghton, Jentezen Franklin, Rich Wilkerson Jr., Joel Stockstill, and Paul Daugherty.

U-Church is designed as a nontraditional worship service for students, but alumni and friends from the community are welcome and encouraged to participate.

All U-Church services are free of charge and will be held in the Lee University Conn Center at 150 11th Street.
