n Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Drivers License Roadside Safety Checkpoints in Bradley County this weekend.
The checkpoints will be set up in random location in the county.
According to THP officials, checkpoints are an effective means of recognizing the dangers presented to the driving public, by motorists who would violate the drivers license laws of the state.
All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon weather conditions and manpower availability.
Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit will also be watching out for drivers who break traffic laws. Sgt. Andy Smith said a concentration on roadways in Bradley County and especially school zones will show heavy enforcement during the next few weeks due to the high-crash data and fatalities which have occurred this year.
“We intend to keep our roadways safe as the Lifesaver Project continues,” Smith said.
