The firing of a Cleveland police officer has been upheld by Cleveland City Manager Janice Casteel in a letter stating she supported the findings of the police department investigation.

Former Special Investigations Detective Duff Brumley was placed on administrative leave with pay in June while Internal Affairs investigated a complaint from the office of 10th Judicial District Attorney Steve Bebb.

Cleveland Chief of Police Wes Snyder notified the 13-year veteran his employment with the police department was terminated on Aug. 18 upon completion of the internal investigation by Detective Brian Pritchard.

Brumley is the second police officer recently dismissed from the police force. Officer Roger Smith was fired July 16 for mishandling evidence.
