The Polk County golf teams wrapped up their regular season play with three wins in four matches this week.
After Mother Nature washed out Monday’s District 5 A-AA tri-match with Sequoyah and Silverdale Baptist Academy, the Wildcat squads traveled to Bear Trace Wednesday and split a pair of matches with Signal Mountain before putting a bow on the regular season with a sweep of McMinn Central Thursday at Ridgewood.
With victories both days, the Lady Wildcats finish the campaign with a 13-2 mark, downing Signal Mountain 86-96 and Central 87-105.
Senior Lydia Triplett paced the Polk wins, shooting a 1-over-par 37 at Bear Trace and a 40 at Ridgewood to earn both low-medalist honors.
Freshman Heather Ellis helped out the winning causes with a 47 Thursday and a 49 on Wednesday.
The Wildcats post a 12-4 mark on the year after falling to Signal Mountain 161-174 before rebounding against the Chargers for a 158-161 win.
Senior Evan Ball shot even-par Thursday for low-medalist honors, plus posted a 41 on Wednesday.
Classmate Cameron Bean had the low score against Signal Mountain with a 40, to go along with shooting a 39 Thursday.
Jake Burrows, also a senior, had a 41 against Central and a 44 in the Signal Mountain match.
Sophomores Ryan Droke rounded out the score the Wednesday score with a 49, while Michael Rongey did the honors Thursday with a 42.
Polk County will travel back to Bear Trace at Harrison Bay Monday for the District 5 A-AA Tournament.
