High goal polo matches return to Bendabout Farm again for two weekends this month, as weather permits.

Matches start at 10 a.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday this weekend, and again Sept. 21-22.

Matches this weekend feature an all-USA team playing an all-South African team. The action will be fast-paced with highly ranked players on the best horses. The USA team will be lead by Gillian Johnston of Bendabout Farm. The team will include Julio Arellano, who is the highest-rated player in the United States. The South African team will consist of four high-rated players who have successfully competed on the international level at the most prestigious tournaments.

High goal matches played the following weekend will feature more regional players. All matches will provide the public with the opportunity to see the sport on the field and meet players afterward.

The matches this Sunday will benefit the 6th Cavalry Museum in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. Polo matches between Bendabout Farm and Fort Oglethorpe date back to the 1930s. While admission and parking are free, museum representatives will be on hand to answer questions and for accepting contributions.

Bendabout Farm is located in McDonald, south of Cleveland on U.S. Highway 11. Signs will mark the entrance. There is additional bleacher seating or spectators may bring folding chairs.

In case of inclement weather, the matches might be cancelled. For more information, please call 423-479-1645 or visit www.Bendabout.com on the Internet.
