This is the ensemble’s second performance at Lee and promises yet another outstanding evening.
Led by cellist Wendy Law, Classical Jam unites acclaimed soloists and chamber musicians Jennifer Choi, violin; Cyrus Beroukhim, viola; Marco Granados, flute; and Justin Hines, percussion, for performances that delight all types of audiences. Known for their lively style and creative concert programs, Classical Jam performs a broad repertoire of traditional classical works, improvisations, and original compositions.
Classical Jam aims to develop a more personal relationship between concertgoers, performers and composers by inviting audiences to share in their creative process and discovery.
“Everywhere Classical Jam visited they gave an energetic performance. They involved the audience in their performances, and taught them that Classical Music can be fun!” said Quad Cities Arts, of Ill.
Classical Jam members perform regularly with “Musicians from Marlboro,” Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Individually, they have appeared as soloists with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Singapore Symphony, the Juilliard Orchestra, the Oregon Symphony and the Virginia Symphony, among others.
Classical Jam was recently selected by Concert Artists Guild to receive the Cary Trust Fund for Contemporary Music Projects and were recently featured in the documentary film by Kasia Witek entitled “Classical Jam — A Documentary.”
Along with their dedication to their individual careers, members of Classical Jam are teaching artists at such leading organizations as the Lincoln Center Institute, the New York Philharmonic, 92nd Street Y, and Carnegie Hall.
Classical Jam musicians are graduates of the Juilliard School, the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the New England Conservatory, and Manhattan School of Music.
