Ray Davis, 82, a resident of Old Fort, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, in a local hospital.

He was the son of the late Lester and Velma Curbow Davis. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Hall; and a brother, J.T. Davis.

He was retired from Jackie Evans Trucking as a truck driver and also had worked at the Cleveland Milling Co.

He attended Antioch Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Cleo Davis; four sons and spouses: Melvin and Cheryl Davis of Old Fort, Rick and Karen Davis of Chattanooga, Scottie Davis of Old Fort and Tim and Jennifer Davis of Chattanooga; grandchildren: Aaron Russell, Brandon Davis, Shawn Davis, Wade Davis, Reece Davis, Emma Davis, Caleb Davis and Luke Davis: three great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Hall of Old Fort; two brothers and their spouses: Joe and Katherine Davis, and Lynn and Stella Davis, all of Old Fort; one sister-in-law, Mary Jo Davis of Old Fort; and several nieces and nephews.

A remembrance of life service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Ministers Doyle Partin and Lamar Beason officiating.

Interment will follow in the Antioch Church of Christ Church cemetery with Brandon Davis, Shawn Davis, Wade Davis, Reece Davis, Aaron Russell, Johnny Davis, Roger Hall, Chris Davis and Caleb Davis serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
