He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cleveland.
He was retired from West Virginia Coal Miners.
He is survived by his wife, Erma Smith of Cleveland; five stepchildren; 21 stepgrandchildren; and 34 stepgreat-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church
Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Woody and the Rev. Jimmy Napier officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at Grissom Funeral Home.
