Reginal Wayne Gatlin, 72, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010, in a local health care facility with his two loving daughters at his side.

He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church and also a member of Local Union IBEW 175. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He was a well-known electrician in the Cleveland area.

He was a very kind and loving person; once you met Wayne you had a friend for life. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Elbert Gatlin; mother, Ola Mae Gatlin Brown; stepfather, James Archie Brown; and brother, Robert Gatlin.

Survivors include his daughters: Melissa Sharp and husband, Dea, of Cleveland and Karen Gatlin and Albert Barber, both of Chattanooga; brother, Jim Gatlin and wife, Ann, of Cleveland; sister, Ann Gatlin Mason of Mississippi; grandson, Brandon Sharp; stepson, Jerry Fox; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Wilson and the Rev. Richard McKeeham officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
