St. James Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America, invites the community to morning service Sept. 22 to celebrate the anniversary of the Rev. Rhonda S. Westfield as pastor.

She has served as senior pastor for 12 years at the church, where she has been an active member most of her life.

The Rev. Dr. Mitchell M. Walker Sr. is the scheduled guest speaker.

Dr. Walker is the immediate past pastor of St. James CPCA, where he served both the church and community for more than 23 years.

In addition to pastoring the church, he was involved with Bradley Initiative for Church and Community, Crestwood Medical Center, Bradley Memorial and Cleveland Community hospitals (SkyRidge Medical Center), Cleveland-Bradley Housing Corporation, Bradley County Head Start, Cleveland Housing Authority, Cleveland YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, Bradley County NAACP, and Cleveland Help-Line.

Dr. Walker has a bachelor of arts degree from Bethel College, master of divinity from Louisville Presbytery Seminary, doctor of ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary, and recently received a graduate certificate in Addiction Counseling from Memphis Theological Seminary.

Walker is currently the senior pastor of Church Street CPCA in Huntsville, Ala., where he serves on the board of Huntsville Association for Pastoral Care and teaches at Huntsville Bible College. He is a member of the Materials Review Committee of Huntsville AIDS Action Coalition, the Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors, American Association for Christian Counselors, American Counseling Association, The National Association for Addiction Professionals and Madison County NAACP.

Westfield accepted Christ into her life as a young adult. Since then, she has served in various capacities at the church as assistant pastor, children’s church pastor, Sunday school teacher, Mission and Evangelism chair, intercessory prayer team, choir member and church secretary. She is founder and co-facilitator for Full Recovery Ministries, a Christian 12-step program. She was officially installed as senior pastor of St. James CPCA on May 4, 2002.

Morning worship begins at 10:30 a.m.
