Richard D. Beville, 67, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012, in a local hospital.
He served as a manager of manufacturing at Dr. Scholls for 14 years.
Serving as a captain in the United States Army, he was a platoon leader in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post 81, where he was a volunteer of the color guard and a member of the 40 & 8.
He received a bachelor of arts degree from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and a master of science degree from the University of Illinois. He also was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Beville; children: Steven “Chip” Beville and wife, Kristi, of Cleveland, and Amy E. Beville and companion, Jason Lang, of Los Angeles; grandchildren: Blake Beville, Richard Lupo, and Alicia Lupo; brother, Bill Panje of Chicago; nephew, Steve Brinegar of Missouri; and good friend, Mike Dickey of Cleveland.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with his comrades from the American Legion Post 81 conducting military honors.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
