He is survived by his daughter, Zelda (Marquis III) Dotson of Cleveland; brothers, Harold (Leona) Hitchcock and Malcolm (Linda) Hitchcock, all of Grand Rapids, Mich., Johnie Hitchcock of Etowah and Paul Hitchcock of Athens; sisters: Alma (Robert) Davis of Rockford, Sue (Robert) Jobe of Grand Rapids and Ann (John) Boyd of Riceville; grandchildren: Asha J. Martin and Marquis Dotson IV of Cleveland and an adopted grandson, Tayjaune Hardy of Etowah; life partner Christine Lowary, of Etowah; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday Oct. 28, 2012, at Mount Olive A.M.E. Church in Etowah.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service beginning at 1 p.m. at the church.
Interment will conclude at Beth Salem Cemetery.
The family will also receive friends at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home in Athens, Saturday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
