Roger Milton Davis, 80, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at the family residence.

He was a veteran of the United States Army who served in Japan during the occupation, and then 18 months of combat duty as an infantryman serving with the 2nd Infantry Division during the Korean War.

He retired from Bishop Baking with more than 16 years of service.

He was member of the Ladd Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was an extremely driven man mainly focusing on his family.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia Davis; one son, U.S. Army Corp. Roger E. Davis and his wife, Hyeon Ju Lim, of Fort Stewart Ga.; daughter, Wanda Gressel of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; stepdaughters: Debra Black and her husband, Jeff, of Cleveland, and Lisa Brown and her husband, Ben, of Reliance; stepsons: John Nathan Selby and his wife, Dottie, of McDonald and Steven Selby and his wife, Angie, of Collegedale; grandchildren: Brandon, Gabriel and Jackie Black, Brittany Galbriath, Benjamin and Naomi Brown, T.J. and Ethan Selby, Tiffany, Steven and Shane Selby, Patricia and Joshua Davis; brothers: Billy Davis and Doug Davis, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of life service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Dec. 12, 1012, at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Ronnie Bishop officiating.

Interment with full military honors will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Cpl. Roger E. Davis, Gabriel and Jackie Black, Benjamin and Ben Brown and Joshua Galbriath serving as casket bearers. Brandon Black will serve as honorary casket bearer.

The family will receive friends from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
