Ronald Dale “R.D.” Johnson, 67, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 27, 2014, in a local hospital.

He was born on April 27, 1947, a son of the late Spence and Noveita Johnson.

He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and worked for 42 years as a welder for various local companies.

He was a member of the Brittsville Baptist Church.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family, classmates and his many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Stanfield Johnson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Martha Johnson; one daughter, LeAnne Smith of Marble Falls, N.C.; one son, Travis Scott Johnson and his wife, Suzanne; three grandchildren: Brett and Lucas Johnson and Colby Smith; one sister, Sheila Rawlston (Warren) of Hixson; one niece, Allison Forsythe; one nephew, Andy Forsythe; two stepsons: Dale Boyd of Ooltewah and David Boyd of Birchwood; numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 5, 2014, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home, 2419 Georgetown Road N.W, in Cleveland with the Rev. Ken Purdie officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 until the 4 p.m. service time.
