Ronald Johnston, 75, of Cleveland and a former resident of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, in a local hospital.
He retired from Galaxy Carpet Mills and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Grace Way Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Callie Garner Johnston; twin brother, Donald Johnston; and four grandchildren: Carmen Long, Matraca Gunnoe, Casey Wooten and Randy Johnston II.
He is survived by his children: Randy Johnston and wife, Tonya, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., and Tina Gunnoe and husband, Jeff, of Benton; three grandchildren: Ashley Johnston, Taylor Gunnoe and Tyler Gunnoe; two great-grandchildren: Peyton Bell and Bentley Bell; sisters: Sherla Johnston and Carolyn Combs, both of Lenoir City; and Glen Johnston of Athens.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Pearson and the Rev. David Crump officiating
The interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
