Rosie Mae Flowers, 87, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, in a local health care facility.

She was a member of Old Fashion Gospel Tabernacle, located on Hannah Drive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Jackson Sanders and Suzanna Irene Vines Sanders; husband, Johnny Flowers; and her son, Howard Flowers.

She is survived by three children: Mary Hawkins and husband, Gene, of Dalton, Ga., Dora Mae McGill and husband, Larry, and James Flowers, all of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, William Sanders of Charleston; two sisters: Cora Wooden of Cleveland and Marie Martin of Etowah; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
