Ruby Lynn Capehart Hudson, 96, departed this life Saturday, July 13, 2013.

She was born in Holland, Mo., Dec 15, 1916.

She was a resident of Birmingham, Ala., for 15 years before moving to Knoxville in 1955, Chattanooga in 1967 and Cleveland in 1980.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dean Keith Hudson; parents, Noble Henry and Hettie Mae Coleman Capehart of Caruthersville, Mo.; two brothers; three sisters; and grandson, Scott Hudson

She is survived by a daughter, Keitha Hudson of Blountsville, Ala.; son, Jan Hudson and wife, Ursula, of Schuttrange, Luxembourg; son, Dean Hudson and wife, Mary, of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her very close friends, Don and Nancy Fenton.

At age 48, while reading Billy Graham’s book “Peace with God,” she experienced a dramatic conversion. Within a few years, she became selflessly devoted to a life of intercessory prayer, a calling to which she remained faithful for more than 40 years and for which she will be remembered by so many.

Kay Arthur of Precept Ministries International and Pastor Gary Sears will lead a Celebration Memorial Service, Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 11:30 a.m., at Mount Olive Ministries, 3522 Harrison Pike, Cleveland.

The family will begin receiving friends at 11 a.m. and hopes all who knew Lynn will join in this tribute to a remarkable woman.

The family especially wants to acknowledge her caregivers who loved her and cared for her so well: Carol Corum, Pam Mathews, Judy Belk, Shelley Mathews and Mary Payne.
