Ruby Ramsey Mallery, 104, of Chattanooga and Cleveland, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at a local health care facility.

She was a longtime resident of Hamilton and Bradley Counties and a joyful follower of Jesus Christ. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga.

She was a corporate secretary for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis A. Mallery; father, the late Rev. Samuel Moody Ramsey, who was a longtime pastor at Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church; and her mother, Lettie Leona Connor Ramsey; brothers and sisters: John, James Roy, Allison Ramsey, Susie Brown, Lucile Lonas, Mary Evans and Lela Taylor.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Those living locally and in Cleveland are: Jack Lonas, Mack Lonas, Mary Jernigan, Betty Lyle, Lela Francis Cate, Bettye Lonas and Noreen Lonas.

Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Her nephew, Dr. Harrison Taylor will officiate.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

The Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 7414 Old Lee Highway is in charge of arrangements.
