Sallie A. Chastain, 79, of Cleveland, passed away Friday morning, April 5, 2013 at the family residence.

She was the daughter of the late Hessie Frederick Carrick and Baxter Carrick.

Her sisters, Juanita Lewis and Lorene Shrum; her brothers, Glen and John Carrick; and her mother and father-in-law, Edna Freeman Chastain and Eli Chastain, also preceded her in death. She enjoyed stock car racing, cooking and fishing.

She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist Church where she served as church secretary for 14 years.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce W. Chastain, of Cleveland; her sister, Grace Nunley and her husband, Charles; her brother, Benny Carrick and his wife, Phyllis, all of Tracy City; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Chastain and his wife, Ozella, of Old Fort and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Tuesday morning, April 9, 2013, at 11 from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. Paul Fox and Larry Chastain officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Clay Lewis, Manuel Lewis, Robbie Shelton, Eddie Herron, Mark Lewis and Johnny Miller serving as pallbearers.
