More than 200 local men and women are currently deployed as a part of the National Guard’s 1st Battalion 181st Field Artillery Regiment. One of them, Sgt. Jeremiah Martin, has contacted the Salvation Army to let “us know how much he misses the Inman Street Coffeehouse coffee (he was a regular in the coffeehouse prior to deployment, and volunteered with Salvation Army).” The Salvation Army of Cleveland felt the most practical way to respond was to, with the help of customers, send a care package of coffee and notes of appreciation to not only Martin, but for the entire 181st to enjoy. The community filled out numerous, heartfelt cards of appreciation and love, and The Salvation Army is sending more than 50 bags of coffee and tea to the troops in time for Christmas.
