Samuel Edward Davis, 54, a resident of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at Athens Regional Hospital.

He was of the Church of God faith. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Clecie Davis; and one sister, Judy Davis.

He is survived by two children: Samuel Kile Davis and wife, Angela, of Fort Hood, Texas, and Kristy Lynn Cole and husband, Levi, of Cullman, Ala.; two sisters: Sally Davis and Carolyn Davis; five brothers: Sonny Davis of Georgetown, Tand Ronnie, Carl, Thomas, and Ernie Davis, all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at noon on Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Morris officiating.

Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery in Georgetown.

His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
